I have been interested in the Real Estate business for years before actually becoming an agent. I was first licensed as an agent in 1994. I worked in Real Estate Sales until the end of the year 2000. I was named Central Michigan Association of REALTORS' "REALTOR of the Year" for 2000.
In 2001 I went to work in banking and worked my way up to Banking Center Branch Manager before I opted for an early retirement from Bank of America in 2011. Initially at the bank I did mortgage loan applications and processing so I feel I know both side of the process pretty well.
I am very much a people person and I missed being able to get out with people as well as listing and selling homes. In the spring of 2011 I was lured back into the business by Coldwell Banker.
This year, 2014, our office joined the Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel Family of Companies and it has become an even better place to list and sell real estate.
I am an active member of the planning committee for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Fundraiser in Gratiot County. I have been involved annually since we started the Gratiot Relay. This is a Team event to raise funds for Cancer prevention, detection, education and research. The strides that have been made in finding cures and the number of survivors we meet each year makes me know that this is a worthwhile event for the whole community. I have been the chairperson for the event as well as chaired just about every subcommittee. The past few years I have worked on the committee securing entertainment for the 24 hour event. It is a lot of fun and very family friendly.
I have been married 37 years, I have 3 grown children and by the end of 2014 we expect to have 9 grandchildren!
I was raised in Lenawee County and graduated from Adrian High School. I had 6 sisters and 3 brothers, although we don't all still live right there we are a close family.
I worked for General Telephone in Adrian and Transferred to their Alma office in 1985. Fortunately for me (I say now) the telephone office closed and forced me to choose a new career path!
So to the new moms, the PTA parents, displaced workers, in-laws, grandparents - I've been there and can usually identify with you on some level.
Most of my spare time (What is that?) is spent with my children and or grandchildren and I cherish any of that time I can get!
